Timing tool Mercedes M254, M256

With this tool set for setting the timing timing – for replacing the timing chain or for engine repairs – you can repair the M256 engines of Mercedes Benz without any problems.
The set contains all important tools for the correct basic setting of the adjusters, camshafts, timing chain and crankshaft.

Suitable for the following engines with engine codes:
M254 and M256 with engine codes: M 254.915, M 254.920, M 256.930

NOTE:
The timing chain and gears of the valve train are located at the rear of the engine.
To check the timing timing, only the crankshaft pulley and the camshaft sensor need to be removed. Once the KW positioning tool and plastic adapter have been inserted into the sensor bore, the timing mark on the camshaft can be checked using the viewing slot. If the timing times are not correct, the upper timing cover and the 2-piece NW adjusters must be removed. Before loosening, turn the two-piece NW adjusters with the preload lever and tighten them.
The oil valve of the two-piece exhaust camshaft sprocket has a left-hand thread, the inlet side a normal thread.

Possible tightening torques required:
Crankshaft pulley/damper bolts: 50 Nm + 180 degrees
Camshaft sprocket (oiling): 125 ± 5 Nm
Chain tensioner: 80 Nm
Tension and slide rails: 25 Nm
Cylinder head cover (from inside to outside): 6 Nm, 6 Nm, + 90 degrees
Camshaft position sensor: 8 Nm
