Assembly tool for camshaft spur gears

Special tool for adjusting, turning and securing the ‘tension wheel’ of the camshaft spur gears on 3.0L petrol engines of the M256 generation, 2.0L diesel engines OM654 and 3.0L diesel engines OM656 from Mercedes-Benz.
This step is essential when removing the camshaft gears or the camshaft housing. Failure to do so will ultimately result in damage to the cylinder head.

Instructions for use:
The mounting plate (as per W654589003100) is secured in a vice.
The camshaft gear is inserted into the mounting plate and turned using a lever until the locking pin can be inserted. The camshaft gear can be mounted in this position.
