Test cap for measuring oil pressure

This special test cap/oil filter adapter for the OM642 engine generation is used in the Sprinter W906, Viano, Vito, V-Class W629 and X-Class 470, 472 models to check the engine oil pressure.
Testing via the oil pressure switch or via the screw plug is not possible with these models/engines. The test process can be carried out with the oil filter installed.

Reference OM642.889 installed in type X470

Oil pressure at operating temperature:
Idling: =/> 0.3 bar
at 3000 rpm: =/> 3 bar

Tightening torque 25 Nm, test connection NW5

NOTE: The original oil filter cap was also installed in oil filter housings of the same design, e.g. in engine codes M112, M272, OM646, OM651. However, in these cases, the oil pressure is measured using a special screw plug and not with the oil test adapter (such as 642589009100).
For the OM642 engine generation installed in the vehicles listed here, only testing with this test cap is intended.
